#11: Facing Extinction

Who knew that hyenas could have such complicated social lives or that they couldn’t figure out who to mate with? And can you imagine being a zookeeper and dealing with all that animal drama? Having to figure out which hyena is a boy and which is a girl sounds like a nightmare.

It’s like organizing a giant, furry, spotted game of “he loves me, he loves me not.” I don’t envy the zookeepers who have to deal with all that, but I have to admit, it’s kind of fascinating in a weird way. Who knew that the sex lives of hyenas could be so complicated?
