The Many Pink Cadillacs
Elvis Presley’s automotive journey began in 1955 when he acquired his first Cadillac. Sadly, that prized possession met a fiery end. Undeterred, Elvis promptly replaced it with another, only to lend it to a friend when he upgraded to an even newer model. Eventually, this iconic pink Cadillac made its triumphant return to Graceland, where it now stands as a timeless relic on permanent display.

Ordinarily, this historic vehicle finds its home within the hallowed halls of the Graceland Auto Museum. However, on a special occasion, it was rolled out front and proudly showcased for the visit of then-President George W. Bush and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi. A subtle but telling detail in this automotive legend is the embroidered letter ‘E’ gracing the driver’s side mat, a small yet poignant reminder of the enduring connection between Elvis and his beloved Cadillac.
