#17: First Film as Director
In 1978, Beatty made his directorial debut with Heaven Can Wait, a remake of the 1941 film Here Comes Mr. Jordan. He co-directed the film with Buck Henry and also played the lead role.

The film was a critical and commercial success, receiving nine Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. Beatty’s ability to balance comedy, fantasy, and romance proved his versatility as a filmmaker. This success further established him as a major Hollywood power player.
