#16: Political Activism

As Beatty’s career flourished, so did his interest in politics. He became an outspoken supporter of liberal causes, aligning himself with the Democratic Party. In the early 1970s, he actively campaigned for George McGovern’s presidential run against Richard Nixon.

He used his Hollywood influence to raise funds and bring attention to progressive issues. Beatty continued advising politicians throughout the decade and was even rumored to have considered running for office.
