#48: A Blast from the Past

The first microwave was invented by Percy Spencer in the mid-1940s. This innovative kitchen appliance was pretty expensive, so it didn’t become a common household item until the ‘70s and ‘80s. We have a feeling this retro micro is from some time in the 1970s, simply based on the groovy color palette. 

The wild thing is that this is still someone’s daily use microwave. Yup, it still works! We’re not sure how much microwave technology has changed over the years, but we have a feeling this isn’t as energy-efficient. Hopefully, it’s safe to use! Compared to our modern microwaves, this nostalgic item looks more like a toy.
