#46: But Why?

This has to be one of the strangest kitchen gadgets we’ve ever seen. Behold, the egg cuber. This retro advertisement shows how this little tool works. All you have to do is put a freshly peeled hard-boiled egg into the tube. Make sure it’s warm. Then, press down gently to shape your egg into a cube. 

There you go! You now have your own square egg. But… why? Who in the world wants to go through all that trouble to eat a square-shaped hard-boiled egg? It tastes the same as a regular hard-boiled egg, so what’s the point? We have a feeling this ingenious invention didn’t take off when it hit the market.
