#44: A Space Age Blender?
Vintage kitchen items reveal that companies have always tried to market their products in over-the-top ways. They’ll say anything to make their products sound like the best and most modern gadgets on the market. The thing is, these products are usually just like the competition. Take this 1960s-era blender, for example.

The blender has a futuristic atomic symbol with the phrase “solid state” printed on it. What does that even mean? Also, this Osterizer blender is called the Galaxie VIII, implying that it’s out of this world. At the end of the day, it’s just a blender. It’s built like any other blender that whips, grates, mixes, and chops. At least it was built to last and still works all these years later.
