#27: The Foley Fork
You probably don’t know what a Foley Fork is unless you’re a diehard kitchen and cooking historian. This strange-looking contraption is a six-tined utensil that was used for everything from mashing potatoes to delicately beating a bowl of eggs. Apparently, Foley Forks used to be all the rage. Famous chef Julia Child raved about her Foley Fork on her TV show back in the day, making it a popular kitchen essential.

Companies don’t make Foley Forks anymore, but you can usually get lucky and find a vintage one on auction sites like eBay. According to the Minnesota Historical Society, Foley Forks were made by Foley Manufacturing during the Great Depression. Although the originals are quite valuable, you can buy a replica version for under $10. Try one out for yourself and see what all the fuss was about.
