The Traveling Circus
Entertaining our troops has always been a morale boost for everyone involved. Even the circus would visit active duty members to provide them with entertainment and an overall mood booster. This vintage photo shows circus performers doing their thing on a Navy ship. You really can bring the circus just about anywhere.

Three scantily clad women rest atop a trained elephant on the deck of a naval ship. A group of men looks on from the upper decks. While we don’t know the exact date of this photo, our best guess is that it was taken in the 1940s. A naval ship is probably one of the most unlikely places to see an elephant.
