We all know that cheetahs are an endangered species. That’s why it’s so wild to see this vintage circus photo of a performing cheetah and a circus trainer. The welfare of cheetahs wasn’t even a concern back when this photo was taken in the early 1900s. Although cheetahs and other big cats are banned from circuses today, it was a different mindset back then.

Cheetahs brought an element of sparkle and spectacle to a circus. We have to admit that seeing a cheetah in real life during an early 1900s circus would be an unforgettable sight. The woman in this practice ring is truly fearless. Cheetahs, like most other animals used in circus performances, are wild and can potentially attack at any moment.
