The Crew at Work

The circus was a magical thing. To residents across the country, the circus would seemingly pop up out of thin air during the spring and summer months. However, a ton of work happened behind the scenes to make sure circus guests got the best experience possible. This photo shows a circus crew setting up one of the many tents of a traveling circus. 

Setting up a big top tent was hard work. These guys are hoisting the heavy fabric up using wooden poles and manual labor. Imagine how tiring it was to set something like this up in the heat of summer. The cheers of the crowd and the delighted faces of children in the audience made it all worth it.
