The Lion Tamer
Lion-taming routines were one of the signature acts of any self-respecting circus back in the day. Dressed in glitzy costumes, men and women alike would enter the ring with wild lions in front of hundreds of spectators. Women lion tamers were pretty common during the golden era of the circus.

In fact, female lion tamers were quite popular among the circus-going crowd. This woman named Olga faced off against three male lions with only a wooden stool and stick. Talk about bravery! While the lions probably didn’t enjoy this routine too much, Olga probably got quite a thrill whenever she stepped into the ring.
