This guy is living life on the edge. Literally. This contortionist named Salm is precariously balanced on a vase with his feet behind his head. Performances like this were pretty common back in the golden years of the circus. It’s pretty amazing, so we can see why contortionists were so popular!

Salm was a contortionist who worked for the circus in the early 1900s. He was known as the “elastic wonder of the world” because of his flexibility. This photo is proof that he was able to balance his whole body on a tiny vase, but how in the world did he get down without falling?
