Janet Jackson might always be known as a member of the Jackson 5 and a part of the Jackson Dynasty, but she carved out her own path in the music industry and has made her own legacy. In 1984, Jackson married James DeBarge, a member of another famous family singing group called Debarge.

The marriage was officially annulled the following year due to DeBarges’ raging addiction. After the divorce, DeBarge claimed he and Jackson had a daughter together but those reports were never confirmed by the Jackson family. The acclaimed singer was married twice after her first marriage to DeBarge.
