Julio Iglesias and Isabel Preysler, 1971

Soulful Spanish singer-songwriter Julio Iglesias married Spanish-Filipina journalist Isabel Preysler in 1971. Preysler was a popular television host and journalist at the time; she came from an aristocratic, wealthy Filipino family and Spanish dynasty. The couple stunned their wedding guests as they tied the knot at Aman Canal Grande Venice in Italy.

Preysler wore a simple vintage gown with a soft flowing vale; following the lavish ceremony the couple honeymooned in the Canary Island in the lap of luxury. Iglesias and Preysler remained married for eight years before getting a divorce, and they share three children. Chabeli, Julio Jr., and Enrique – the American Music Award winner we’re all familiar with, Enrique “Bailamos” Iglesias.
