Cher and Gregg Allman, 1975

Following her highly publicized divorce from Sonny Bono in 1975, Cher married The Allman Brothers Band frontman, Gregg Allman. Shockingly, seven days later the couple separated, eventually coming back together after Cher learned that she was pregnant with her son, Elijah.

They married in 1975, with Cher in a stunning satin gown as pictured above. The tabloids claim that Cher just wasn’t ready for another marriage and the couple divorced in 1979. Allman went on to marry three more times, while Cher never married again. Instead, she rose to worldwide stardom, creating a legacy that will live on forever. As for Allman, he stepped away from the music industry in the years following their coup de grace.
