John Lennon and Yoko Ono, 1969
Who could forget the infamous relationship between The Beatles frontman John Lennon and Yoko Ono? Lenon met Yoko Ono at a London art gallery celebrating her work in 1966. Throughout their years as a couple, they underwent a surplus of negative publicity, as most fans believed she was the reason for The Beatles’ breakup and resented her for it. Her name was even coined as a phrase to describe someone who breaks up groups and friendships.

Despite the enormous backlash, the two wed in 1969 in a casual wedding. John and Yoko had two sons, named Sean and Julian. In 2015, Yoko Ono posted the iconic photo of the pair on the beach on their wedding day. The post read: “John and I got married on March 20th, 1969, exactly 46 years ago. When someone told us we got married on the first day of Spring, we just looked at each other and said, wow!”
