Just one look at this campaign and it is pretty clear what that mystery advertising technique is… Sex sells. What do hair appliances and accessories have to do with sex? Absolutely nothing, but when you put a person there and tie it to a concept, then this very concept starts to work. We have no doubt that this campaign worked well for Clairol because it is quite witty.
