Overprotective
Mothers and their sons have a special bond. Most mothers fear that the day their son gets married is the day this special bond would be severed. They will somehow be replaced (although you can’t replace your mother). Moms want their kids to be happy and to be with someone who brings out the best in them.

Mothers can be overprotective of their kids when they’re letting them go off and get married. One mother-in-law disliked her son’s bride so much that she wrote him the day before to warn him, left early on their wedding in tears, then sent a distasteful email to the bride the next day. No matter how much you love your kids, you have to let them go off and make their own decisions as adults.
