#5: Dumbing It Down

Apparently, landlords don’t understand how electric appliances work. At least, that’s what this one landlord wants her tenant to think. If something was working fine four years ago, she can’t understand why it isn’t working just as well today. Was she playing dumb, or was she genuinely mystified that the refrigerator broke after a good run?

If this landlord was joking, it would have actually been quite a funny response. Sadly, that doesn’t appear to be the case. She was genuinely trying to avoid repairing or replacing the refrigerator. Some landlords will go to great lengths not to have to do their jobs – maintaining their property.
