#13: The Stain Game

Even if your new landlord seems like a real sweetheart when you first move in, it’s always a good idea to document the condition of absolutely everything in the apartment. This one renter was very smart for doing so. He foresaw that since some things weren’t in top shape, he might get blamed for it. And, boy, did he guess right!

This landlord thought she could get one step ahead of him and claimed there was a new stain on the mattress. However, he didn’t fall for the phantom discoloration she tried to point out. Good for him for calling her out on it. Most people (yours truly included) would just give up and pay the price. We need more people like Max fighting the good fight!
