#11: Same Old Mold Story

Landlords will often try to squeeze as much out of their spaces as possible. Rather than making the proper upgrades over the years, they’ll put a patch on it. This approach may help them skate by for a bit longer, but in the end, they end up causing a bigger headache for everybody involved, including themselves.

This landlord squeezed an awful lot into a tiny area and didn’t include any safety measures, like a fan or ventilator. It’s not a surprise to anybody but him that the result of this setup was mold. Was he really caught off guard when his tenant revealed she found mold or did he figure kicking her out would make the problem go away? At least she can see how ridiculous that is and laugh about it!
