#3: A Sudden Urge to Buckle Up Becomes a Lifesaving Miracle

I know some people think seatbelts are arbitrary, but they are the single most effective way to protect yourself during an accident. I know a lot of people don’t wear them every time they get in a car, and I’m not sure what finally made this person put theirs on, but I’m glad this life lesson didn’t result in death.

I’m such a stickler for seatbelt usage that I’ve spent tons of time on the side of the road refusing to drive until all of my children are buckled in. A few times, they tried to be sneaky about it and take it off mid-drive, so I finally made them watch a video showing the aftermath of a wreck without a seatbelt. That fixed the problem.
