#31: Aqua Dots

Aqua Dots, a popular craft toy introduced in the mid-2000s, allowed children to create colorful designs by arranging small beads and then fusing them together with water. However, their discontinuation stemmed from a significant safety issue. The coating on the beads contained a chemical that, when ingested, could metabolize into a powerful sedative known as GHB, posing severe health risks to children who might accidentally ingest them.

This dangerous flaw came to light when reports emerged of children falling seriously ill after swallowing Aqua Dots. Consequently, the toys were recalled, and production ceased due to the grave safety concerns surrounding the product.
