#56: A Batman Battle

In case you didn’t know, the origin of Batman is a hotly debated topic. Artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger are credited with developing Batman into the famous superhero that he is today. Kane thought of the basic premise for Batman, but Finger brought unique details to the table that really made Batman stand out from other superheroes of the day.

However, Kane went on to claim that Finger was lying about his contributions. For whatever reason, greed or otherwise, Kane later claimed that he thought of Batman all on his own. The truth of the matter is, Kane’s original concept for Batman was more sidekick material. His original concepts were later adapted into Robin’s character. Unfortunately, Finger never got proper credit for his Batman contributions while he was alive.
