#9: We’ve Switched Places

While we’ve been getting fatter, our TVs have been getting thinner! According to some statistics, the average TV depth has decreased from around 16 inches in the 1990s to less than 2 inches today. That’s an 87.5% reduction in just a few decades! But it’s not just the thickness of the TV that has changed…

The weight of the average TV has also decreased significantly, from over 150 pounds in the 1990s to less than 50 pounds today. That’s a 67% reduction! But whilst our televisions have been getting into shape, it seems that we have taken their place in the race for who’s getting bigger.
