An Everyday Hero

You’d think that saving someone’s life would be a memorable experience, right? Well, this guy saved another kid when he was around 13 years old, but he totally forgot about it! Many years ago, he was tubing down a river in North Carolina when he noticed another boy stuck under a rock. The water was piling up around him and he was close to drowning!

Without thinking, our storyteller pulled him out and gave him CPR! For whatever reason, he was more concerned that he had just done mouth-to-mouth with another dude than the fact that he literally saved someone’s life! Since he was a teenage boy, we guess it was a big deal. When he was in college, he miraculously ran into the guy he saved at a party but didn’t remember him. He had to be reminded of the incident. Maybe his brain couldn’t register how scary the whole situation was and blocked it from his memory. Either way, he’s a hero!
