All Because of a Kick

Kids usually get in pretty big trouble when they kick their parents, accidentally or otherwise. Well, this person’s dad actually had to thank them for the kick in the pants! While on vacation one summer, their dad was giving them a piggyback ride. Our storyteller accidentally kicked him, but the adults in the situation became pretty concerned because the level of bruising was abnormal.

The extreme bruising prompted their dad to get it checked out by the doctor, and they made a stunning discovery. The doctor found a tumor growing in his kidney, only a few months away from metastasizing. If it hadn’t been for that kick, our storyteller’s dad may have never gone to the doctor and his cancer diagnosis may have been far more dire.
