Reality TV Gets Real

Most of us watch reality TV for pure entertainment, but this story shows that at least one person drew inspiration from it to change their life. This person shared that their sister was on an episode of A&E’s Intervention, a show about people getting help for their serious addictions. About a year after the episode aired, their sister was at a Narcotics Anonymous meeting, and someone recognized her.

The person who recognized her at the meeting shared that her episode inspired them to get sober. The inspiration worked because they were both getting the support they needed at the NA meeting. Our storyteller’s sister had no idea that by sharing her journey, she inspired a complete stranger to change their life.
