Best Friends in the Making

Starting a new job or a new school is always challenging, but even more so if you don’t speak the language. When this storyteller was a little girl, she became friends with a new student who had just moved to her class from Mexico. The two of them became very close, and they learned Spanish and English from each other.

Our storyteller eventually switched schools, and the two of them lost touch. That is, until now! The two of them are now reunited because they attend the same high school. The friendship picked up right where it left off, and they’re as close as ever! Her best friend has told her many times that she appreciated our storyteller being so kind to her all those years ago.
