A Late Night Call

A lot of these significant moments are very serious. Another person shared her experience of talking her best friend out of taking their own lives. Back when she and her best friend, Liz, were in high school, our storyteller got a weird call from Liz’s brother. It was three in the morning, and the brother said that Liz needed to talk to her. 

Bleary-eyed, our storyteller agreed to talk to her best friend even though it was the middle of the night. Her friend was crying, so they talked for about an hour until she calmed down. The two of them didn’t discuss that phone call until many years later. Liz revealed that she was about to walk into oncoming traffic, and that phone call with her best friend was the only thing that stopped her.
