Unsung Hero

This person had a significant impact on someone else’s life, but she’s the only one who remembers. When she was twelve, she vividly remembers saving a young girl from drowning. She didn’t go into detail, but we can imagine that it was a very intense experience for both of them.

As an adult, our storyteller found the girl she saved on Facebook and added her as a friend. The girl remembered the apartment complex they grew up in, but didn’t remember our storyteller or her siblings. Honestly, her mind probably blocked out the drowning memory because it was extremely traumatic. Our storyteller doesn’t mind that the girl doesn’t remember. It just makes her happy to see her alive and well.
