#32: Jesus Wasn’t Born on December 25th
There’s been a lot of research into when Jesus was born based on context clues, and the consensus is that it wasn’t anywhere near December 25th. Scholars believe that Pope Julius was trying to help pagans convert to Christianity by lining up the holidays so that they needn’t change their celebration dates.

In all honesty, it worked beautifully, and what we now call Christmas is a beautiful conglomeration of Paganism and Christianity. That’s why it feels comfortable for people who aren’t religious to celebrate the holidays since it holds so many different meanings, and everyone can celebrate in their own way.
