#38: Embrace Your Sadness
Why is it that when we’re feeling down in the dumps, we turn to music that makes us feel even worse? We sit there with our headphones on, drowning in a sea of sorrowful melodies and tear-jerking lyrics, all the while wondering why we’re doing this to ourselves. Is it because we want to wallow in our sadness, to bask in the melancholy and let it consume us?

Or maybe it’s because listening to sad music makes us feel less alone in our misery, like there’s someone out there who understands what we’re going through. Either way, it’s a strange phenomenon. But hey, who am I to judge? If listening to “All By Myself” on repeat is what gets you through the day, then go for it! Just don’t forget to balance it out with some upbeat tunes every once in a while, or you might find yourself sinking deeper into the abyss.
