5. That’s a Car, Not a Punching Bag

This is not limited to Costa Rica, I have definitely been yelled at for slamming a door too hard before. I’ve also been yelled at for not closing it hard enough and for it not to register as properly closed in the car. Then you get the fun open-the-car-while-it’s-moving moment to close it quickly and properly again.

So, how hard should you close a door? Experts have pondered this for decades to find the proper in-between, but the final result has been announced as such: It depends on the car. I guess I’ll just be extra careful in Costa Rica.
