47. We’re Trying to Be Polite Here

I love this term. It sounds so charmingly innocent but is lowkey a hilariously subtle way to affectionately insult someone and call them an idiot. This is the sort of caring we need from people! This sort of low-key building them up despite our own self sabotaging idiocy.

It’s always interesting to see how cultures deal with manners; some tend to try and be gentler and more polite about expressing themselves than others. Some are far more straightforward and aggressive. At the end of the day, it really boils down to what you’re used to.
