44. That’s a Misnomer, There
This sounds like a leftover habit from history; there are unfortunately a lot of weird, rude and downright insulting names leftover that are thrown around at various peoples. Best we can do is our due diligence to try and catch it where we can and be better.

That being said, Inuit sounds far cooler than Eskimo anyway, so it shouldn’t be that hard of a switch for people who have been sticking to the latter term. Interestingly, while Eskimo translates to “eater of raw meat,” Inuit’s translation is much simpler. It means “the People.”
