#40: Plasma Gasification
It goes without saying that plasma gasification is not the norm right now. First off, most people don’t even know what the heck plasma gasification is. We looked it up, so you don’t have to. Plasma gasification is a process that uses plasma to convert organic matter into a synthesized gas made of hydrogen and carbon monoxide.

This newer form of technology has been praised as a more efficient alternative to our traditional garbage dump sites. Instead of dumping things in a landfill, they can be smashed into a gas. Plasma gasification hasn’t caught on yet. It costs a lot of money to set up and has yet to turn profitable for companies. Who knows? Maybe landfills will be quaint things of the past in the future.
