#8: Being Unreachable

While modern technology has many benefits, it has also created a very overwhelming stream of constant information. Our phones are practically glued to our hands these days, and information is available 24/7. That also means that we’re expected to be available at all times. Whether it’s work or friends, people expect to reach you whenever they want.

This expectation to be available at all times is exhausting. Why can’t we go back to the days of being unplugged? If someone couldn’t reach you via phone, they had to wait hours before you checked your answering machine and called them back. It wasn’t a big deal! With new VR headsets coming onto the market, who knows if being unplugged and unreachable will ever be possible again.
