#40: Sewing Skills
If we look back about 30 to 50 years ago, we’d find many more people who knew some basic sewing skills. From hemming to mending, sewing skills are largely on the decline. There are a lot of reasons for this shift, but it’s kind of a bummer that more people don’t know basic sewing skills.

Things are different now. A few decades ago, many people had to learn how to sew on buttons and hem jeans out of necessity. They had to make their own clothes or mend old garments to save money. Let’s bring sewing back into the mainstream! Knowing how to do little repairs and sewing projects can save a ton of money. Plus, it’s a sustainable way to maintain a wardrobe.
