#18: The Smoking Section
We bet that not too many people miss this bit of nostalgia. Back in the day, most bars and restaurants had a smoking section. Hotels used to have “smoking” and “non-smoking” rooms, too. Smoking was widely accepted as an everyday habit that a lot of people did. However, due to new laws and societal norms, these smoking sections are mostly obsolete.

Smoking isn’t exactly healthy, so the disappearance of smoking sections inside bars isn’t too heartbreaking. It reflects how people’s habits change. Nowadays, vaping is more common than smoking traditional tobacco. It still isn’t the healthiest of habits, but at least it doesn’t smell as strongly. Smoking sections aren’t necessary with our modern technology.
