#15: Public Payphones
Back in the day, it seemed like public payphones would never go out of style. How were you supposed to call someone if you were out and about? Little did we know that public payphones would become a thing of the past with the advent of cell phones. Now, there are an estimated 100,000 payphones left in the United States.

Who knows how many of them are still in service? Probably not many. Public payphones used to be as commonplace as newspaperstands. Nowadays, both of those things are basically relics. There was nothing like throwing a few quarters into a payphone to call someone and talking to them until the minutes ran out.
