#49: Leave Us Alone, Mom

Commenting on people’s choices to have babies or not have them is only slightly lower on the list of bad things to do than commenting on people’s food choices. This mother is probably just dealing with the loss of meaning in her own life. She’s no longer a mother to the young children that she loves, and she wants to revive this feeling.

I say if she makes these comments again, let her know that she’s not too old to have babies, either. There are plenty of options out there today for older women who are looking to raise children. Just remember you’ll then be a thirty-seven-year-old sibling to a newborn. Good luck with that.
