#9: Babies and Frogs
This next story is absolutely wild. It doesn’t seem like it would be that hard to develop a way to test whether a woman is pregnant, but reliable tests really haven’t been around for more than a few decades. Back in the 1940s through the 1960s, you had to rely on frogs. That’s right, frogs.

A British scientist discovered that if frogs are injected with the urine of a pregnant woman, they will begin to ovulate and lay eggs. So there was a long period of time where, if you wanted to know you were pregnant, it involved your urine and a frog.
