#38: Consent Matters
An important part of going to medical school is getting experience doing the things that you’ve learned about in the classroom in a real-world setting. That comes when they’re doing rotations with doctors, often in hospitals. But finding opportunities for students to do these things sometimes comes with an unexpected dark side.

As stated here, sometimes pelvic exams occur without the patient’s consent. These days, many people are working against this practice, and a number of states have passed laws to stop it. But to think that this kind of thing used to happen all the time is extremely weird…
