#2: Walk Like an Egyptian
It can be really hard to keep the timeline of the history of the earth in perspective. I think a lot of us have a tendency to divide time into three categories: now, the past—anywhere in the last one hundred to one thousand years—and ancient times.

But it’s really oversimplifying to lump all ancient times together. For example, we might be inclined to think that because Cleopatra and the pyramids are both from ancient Egypt, they must have happened around the same time. But actually, ancient Egypt lasted a lot longer than we realize, so the pyramids were as far in the past to Cleopatra as Cleopatra is in the past to us.
