#19: The Problem With Gingers…
Whenever I read ‘Anne of Green Gables,’ I’m amazed at how much beauty standards have changed: Anne absolutely hates having red hair, but these days, I feel like a lot of people would love to have red hair—including me—especially given how it seems to be getting rarer and rarer.

But there is one reason I’m glad not to be a redhead: there is a small but compelling body of evidence that redheads experience pain differently from everyone else and require up to 20% more anesthesia when having surgery or another medical procedure. Crazy to think that the gene that causes red hair could also do that.
