#50: Family Standing With Logged 1300-Year-Old Tree, 1892

These days, it isn’t very common to see such old and beautiful trees because chances are that they have all been cut down by now. Whilst it is a truly mindblowing and unique experience to witness a tree once it has been cut down, there is also something incredibly upsetting about it at the same time.

Can you imagine if this tree wasn’t cut down in 1892? This wonderful part of nature was already this unbelievable size at this stage in its time on Earth, so trying to imagine what it looks like now would be wild. The fact that they were even able to make such an even cut on this giant tree with just a handheld saw is remarkable…
