#28: What it Really Means to Unionize

Unionizing a bad job is not just about improving the conditions of that particular workplace… It’s about improving the conditions of all workers in that industry. When workers come together and form a union, they can negotiate for better wages, benefits, and working conditions.

Unionizing provides job security and a collective voice for workers, which is especially important in industries with high turnover rates or precarious working conditions. So, instead of telling workers just to find a better job, we should be supporting their efforts to improve the job they have and to fight for a better future for all workers.
