#44: Lincoln Memorial – 1917 vs. 2016

It is no secret that Abraham Lincoln had a profound impact on the way the United States functions today. Even though he was assassinated all the way back in 1865, his legacy very much lives on in the hearts, minds of the American people and in the physical landscapes of America.

It is crazy to see what almost 100 years can do to a specific place. These days, the Lincoln Memorial is a very respected and prestigious place, but back in 1917, it didn’t look like the area had too much going on for itself.
